Principal Accountabilities for the Journeyman role:
- Maintain process and industry standards, safety, health, and environment.
- Operate standard maintenance tools safely.
- Perform preventative maintenance up to and including annual PMs.
- Read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Follow safety policies, procedures, and seek out unsafe conditions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues without direct supervision.
- Locate problems by observing devices, listening, and using measuring instruments.
- Understand and certify in LOTO.
- Identify follow-up work.
- Acquire materials, tools, and documentation for planned and reactive work.
- Investigate job sites and prepare them for work.
- Respond to interruptions from supervisors & move to the next job after completion or as directed.
-Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to resolve production issues and maintain schedule.
-Complete Closeout Activities: Tool accountability, parts reconciliation, sanitation tagging, notification to production, returning unused materials and tools, functional operations testing, and arranging for PdM validation.
-Sign and return hardcopy Work Orders to the Maintenance Supervisor with the necessary details.
-Effectively inform daily pass-downs through written communication.
-Help establish and implement preventative maintenance procedures for electronic controlled equipment, plant instrumentation, and plant data collection systems.
-Maintain and troubleshoot electronic controlled equipment, plant instrumentation, and plant data collection systems.
-Self-starter with high performance, prioritizing daily workload.
-Working knowledge of analog, digital control devices and sensors, troubleshooting and repair.
-Effective operation and use of oscilloscopes, VOMs, and other test equipment for industrial control device troubleshooting.
-Working knowledge of serial communications and troubleshooting communications between PLC/PC and ASCII devices.
-Proven troubleshooting skills, methodical problem-solving.

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS [note: bold & starred skills and certification are required]

Required Qualifications
High School or GED Equivalent
Programming and troubleshooting skills, preferably with Allen-Bradley
Be able to troubleshoot PLCs and Ladder logic
Be willing to be a part of the Hazmat team
Electrical/Maintenance Journeyman License in the state of Michigan
3 years manufacturing maintenance experience
Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude
Ability to read & interpret blueprints or other forms of engineering drawings
Ability to read & interpret detail blueprints, P&IDs, single-lines, and wiring schematics
Ability to work weekend and off shift hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Computer literacy and eagerness to learn SAP/PPE systems
Programming and troubleshooting skills with Allen-Bradley
Maintenance experience in a food processing environment
Able to effectively use typical test and calibration equipment including, RTD calibrators, digital multi-meters, 4 to 20 ma calibration unit, etc
Ability to troubleshoot 480 VAC 3-phase motor controls, 120 VAC and 24VDC control circuits
